Bologna Children´s Book Fair 2012

DADA Company will attend the Bologna Fair in the stand of the Basque Publishers association. We will present all our products, making them accessible to the public so they can read and play with them in touch devices. We will also be showing out new coming tools for the creation of apps for interactive mobile gadgets. We want to get in contact with traditional paper publishers aiming to transform their legacy paper illustrated books to the new interactive app model. An easy and quick transformation, thanks to our tools .

The event is dedicated for the children`s book companies, periodicals, publishing houses of multimedia supports, other publishing products and it will be celebrated from 19 March through 22 March 2012 in Bologna, Italy.

Show Me Baby event - Sony Space

DADA Company has participated in Show Me Baby event, that welcomed businesses related to the child's sector in Sony Space in Madrid (C/ Serrano 12).

The event took three days, from Thursday 23 February to Saturday 25 February, focusing the most traffic of attendees on Friday evening and Saturday.

During the days of the event, children and parents have had the opportunity to test our applications and we gave gifts, drawings and stickers, to customers showing one or our apps downloaded.

1. Which are your studies and work experience as an illustrator?

I love drawing since my childhood and I was always involved with little works for my friends and family, so I started self-taught. Later, I took some comic courses and afterwards I decided to do three years cartoon producer course. After my studies, I continue improving my knowledge as an illustrator working hard during 12 years.

2. What do you like most of drawing?

I´ve always had a weakness for motorbikes and cars, but overall I love to draw all sorts of things, and I´m more excited with ones that I´ve never try to draw.

3. What do you think children´s interactive books will provide?

A lot, the possibilities become endless, you can give much more depth to whatever you want to tell or show, it´s a good alternative for entertainment and learning to combine with traditional books.

It was a great experience, and although the cold (max. 3º) DADA Company has shown off by “Hafo” and Josu, who meet professionals from different sectors of the video game industry and interactive applications for iPad, iPhone and Smartphones.

Interviewing Màriam Ben-Arab

1. How and when did you decide to work as an illustrator?

It happened when I decided to drop out my veterinarian degree. One day, in a histology lecture, my conscience (really wise in that moment) told me that my real vocation was the drawing. So I went to my parents and said “Mom, dad: I want to be an artist”. I fought for it and now I feel very lucky to work as an illustrator, because it’s really my passion (and have so much fun every day!).

2. Which are your inspiration sources?

My own imagination, other illustrators work, everyday happenings, the books I read as a child and those I read nowadays, and the good films that move something inside me.

3. What has meant for you to participate in the creation of an interactive book?

It was a fantastic experience. Really fantastic because it was absolutely new for me, a real big challenge. I was always working in “traditional” illustration projects, so I had to change my way of working to conceive the illustrations: in this case, you have to add a new combination, the interactivity, which includes, the animation in one side and the technique means on the other, in an app like Off to bed! has when the reader interacts with it.

DADA COMPANY will be at Casual Connect – Hamburg 2012

DADA Company will be at the event in Hamburg (Germany), from 7th to 9th of February 2012. Three intense days plenty of interesting lectures and chats given for recognized professionals of the area, which will be celebrated in the Congress Center of Hamburg.

Moreover, the event has a huge number of sponsors and will receive different press companies.

Presentation in Sins Entido bookshop

 We have made a compilation of photos, comments and videos of the event in Sins Entido bookshop, on January 19th. If you couldn´t go, we show you the most relevant.

Different audience from book industry and culture turned up for the event: journalist, illustrators, designers, teachers, librarians, booksellers, etc.,that we had appreciated a lot. 

DADA Company was presented by two of their members David Yerga and David Cano, and Màriam Ben-Arab and Sergio Animatonic, illustratros, were with them.
